About Us
ABOUT THE JERSEY SHORE POPS
Our mission is to provide quality musical and cultural concerts and educational assemblies to schools and concert halls throughout New Jersey and the United States with an emphasis on American music and history.
Our organization (formerly Peacemaker Productions) has been in existence for the past nine years, producing concerts and music education assemblies in performing arts centers and schools throughout the United States. We have presented numerous programs and concerts throughout the state of New Jersey including The American Music Project which provides educational music programs in schools. This year, our organization will expand our artist musicians roster with the formation of a new orchestral ensemble called Jersey Shore Pops. Our 2010 goal is to diversify our outreach into the community and provide employment opportunities to 15-18 New Jersey based musicians and guest solo artists.
Our organization, under the artistic direction of Linda Gentille, received numerous community grants to produce quality concerts including grants ($17,000) from The Cape May County Chosen Board of Freeholder's in 2007 and 2008. These grants were used to fund various very well received school music assemblies in Cape May County.
Our goal is to make Middle Township Performing Arts Center the performance home of the new ensemble. Middle Township Performing Arts Center is very enthusiastic about and supportive of this prospect. We will present 4-6 concerts per season in 2010 and hope to expand that number each year of operation with grant and sponsorship support.
To audition for Jersey Shore Pops, please contact the musical director Linda Gentille by email at Linda (at) JerseyShorePops.org or via the contact page Thank you for your interest in our organization. All our musicians must be excellent chart readers and available for weekend concerts. We only rehearse the day of a performance. We are currently still seeking musicians with the following skills: saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion and violins.
